Our dental office also uses oral sedation for the high anxiety patient. Oral sedation is a pill or liquid taken before that appointment that induces relaxation and sleepiness. The level of sedation is monitored and adjusted based on the patient's response. A consultation with the dentist is necessary to determine if oral sedation would be right for you!
*PLEASE NOTE: If you choose oral sedation, you MUST have someone to drive you TO and FROM your appointment and stay with you afterwards.
We offer nitrous oxide for those patients who are just slightly nervous and need a slight reduction in anxiety to complete the procedure. Nitrous oxide, or ‘laughing gas’ has few contraindications and can be used successfully on kids through adults very easily. You will be able to drive yourself to and from the appointment with this option.
Dental anxiety is not unusual, and people of any age can experience such feelings. We will adjust our care to meet your needs, so you can receive the treatment you desire at a pace that feels comfortable to you. We offer several options to help you relax, from warm blankets, nitrous oxide (laughing gas) or oral sedation. Please share your feelings with us, so we can make your visits as comfortable and relaxing as we can.
